Our creed, Disciple, Rule of Order and Doctrine is the Word of God as taught and revealed by the Holy Ghost... (John 14:26; 1Corinthians 2:13)
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; (2 Timothy 3:16 & 17)
We believe in one eternal, omnipotent God who is completely holy. Further, that He has changed His name to suit the dispensation needs of His people and that His present dispensation name is the Lord Jesus Christ: also…”For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;” … (Colossians 2:9)
We believe it is essential for everyone to have a “new” or “second birth”. To be born of the water and of the Spirit. (John 3:5) The proper scriptural way to be born of the water is to be immersed (baptized) in water in the name of Jesus Christ. To be born of the Spirit is to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance….(Acts 2:4, 38)
We believe in the “Holy Communion” or the “Lord’s Supper” as was instituted by Jesus… (Matthew 26:26-29)
We believe in the “Virgin Birth”, that Jesus was both human and divine; Mary’s son and Mary’s God; God manifest Him…(Luke 1:27-35)
Pastor Robert I Roach, Jr. answered the call of the Lord to preach the Gospel in 1982. He attended Bethel Bible Institute and graduated with honors in May of 1986. He preached on the street corner and anywhere and everywhere someone would listen. He also served as an Associate Minister at the church where he was baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit in June 1979.
Pastor Roach had a strong desire to minister to hurting people. In April of 1991, Faith Christian Center was founded by Pastor Roach and held its first Bible Class in the home of him and his wife L’Tanya along with their 3 children filling the positions of ushers. By June of that same year they outgrew the living room and moved into the nearby Helen Street school gymnasium in Hamden, Ct. We moved into our current location at 295 Treadwell Street, Hamden, Connecticut in 1992.
Pastor Roach’s spiritual growth and progress in the Word has been evident to all and is being reflected in the life of his congregation. Many have been baptized with the Holy Spirit and are enjoying good health and God’s blessings
